Carrie Charette, Principal
Welcome to Franklin High, proud home of the Golden Tornadoes.
The fall season is upon us and school has many upcoming activities and I want to keep you informed. Included with a letter I mailed home you will find our district’s wellness policy. Please read and review this information and help the district continue to set healthy examples for our students while they are on campus. In addition to the guidelines, if your child is a junior or freshman, data from our spring Science NECAP testing is included with that letter.
PSATs: The sophomores will be taking PSATs on campus on October 19, 2016 beginning in the morning at 7:40am. They will need to get a good night’s sleep beforehand and we will have some breakfast items available for them. Students cannot have their cells phones or technology during the entire block of PSAT time. Please let your children know to leave items in their lockers or at home for this day. Students are also encouraged to bring a book to read if he or she finishes a part of the testing early. Testing will be completed by lunch time. Interested juniors can also pay $15.00 if they would like to participate in testing. Please visit www.kaptest.com/psatpreplive for test taking tips.
Picture Retakes: will take place on Friday, Oct. 21st. Retakes will take place in the cafeteria and any student who was not photographed at the beginning of school will need to have their picture taken at this time. In addition, the large group senior photo will also be taken and band & chorus group photos will be taken as well.
Financial Aid Night: On Tuesday, October, 25 from 6-8 pm at the Franklin Opera House there will be a free event for seniors and their guardians. This will include a presentation put on by the New Hampshire Higher Education Assistance Foundation (NHHEAF), which will provide students and families with more information about the financial aid process when applying to college. They will cover how to apply for financial aid, types of aid that are available, scholarship options, and financial aid deadlines. You can find more information about NHHEAF at their website, http://www.nhheaf.org/
Please feel free to contact me at the high school if you need any additional information.
