Welcome to the Franklin Middle School. We had a great start of the school year. Many things have been happening and the children all seem happy to return to school. Now as we approach the start of the Fall session, I always like to remind everyone that children need to dress in layers due to the New England weather. We start off cool and end with summer like afternoons. So please, help us keep everyone healthy by seeing that children are properly dressed for school
We have started a Twitter account where we post events and reminders for everyone. You can follow us at @FMS_SAU18.ORG. We look forward to you following us on Twitter.
The staff is continuing to work on developing new and more enriching programs for the children here at FMS. Again this year, we will have a Jazz Band and Glee Club. For more information please contact Mr. Stevens our music instructor at email@example.com.
We always encourage you to ask your children what they are learning about in all of their classes. You should also look at the link to School Home Newsline and the Parent Portal to check grades. The staff updates their information weekly about their classes. It is so exciting to offer all of these new things to our children. The parent portal is also open this year where you can track your student’s progress weekly. Teachers are updating the information on Wednesday each week. If you need assistance, please contact Ms. Hurst at 934-5828 ext. 2226.
Please take the time to visit the school and become an active member in your child’s education. I look forward to meeting you and reconnecting with many of you again. Reminder that PTO meetings are the second Monday of every month (unless it is a holiday then it falls on the Tuesday). They start at 6 PM in the Media Center. Look forward to seeing you at these meetings. In November, the PTO is having a presentation from Plymouth State University from the TIGER program on November 10th. The children will be enjoying a presentation and workshops on the 20th of November.
We all want to wish everyone a great FALL!
