As we begin our move into the second half of the year here at Franklin Middle School, we are also still making many new and exciting changes. We have been working very closely to make improvements that will benefit our school and make us one of the greatest middle schools in the state.
Here are a few highlights for the school year: we started the year off with moving away from the Everyday Math program to Go Math. The children and staff are adjusting nicely to the changes. Now as we enter the second half of the year, everyone is used to the new vocabulary. Things are moving quickly and we are observing nice improvements on assessment scores with the change. One of the biggest changes occurred at our first Math Meet. We tied for first place with Gilford. The children and advisors have done an excellent job. Keep it up everyone.
We have started offering after school tutoring to our students again this year. If you are interested in having your child participate in this program please call the school for more information.
The ski program is enjoying the mountain on Thursday nights. It has been cold but we are excited about the soon to be spring skiing. It is always fun to ski on good corn snow.
We would like to see a stronger presence at our monthly PTO meetings. They are held on the second Monday of the month starting at 6:00PM in the library. Hope to see you there.
