Principal's Message:

The days are getting longer and the snow is melting, it must be SPRING!  We are all excited for the nice weather and the warm sunlight. We have started planning our activities for the end of the school year. In a few weeks we will be on break and when we return the last few weeks of school will fly right by and the summer vacation will be upon us.

We have the spring sports season starting with a higher than normal participation rate than past years. We are so excited to see so many children taken advantage of these sports activities. We also have teachers available each night to work with students to help them keep up with their studies and make it to the next grade. It is important that we work together to ensure the academic success of all.

We are currently working on our summer school program for July 6th to July 30th. I want to make sure that parents are aware of the dates so you can plan vacations around summer school schedule. It is very important to have children attend these programs to help them continue to gain the missing skills and strengthen their abilities. In addition to this we will also be continuing our summer reading program. Every child will be expected to read two different books over the summer. When they return in the fall they will be doing several different activities in our Reading/Language Arts classes. Last fall the projects were on display throughout the school in September. They were very well done. I look forward to seeing this next round of projects.

The fifth grade will be going to Whale’s Tale on June 16th. Our sixth graders will be going to Lost River on June 15th while the seventh graders will be traveling to Boston on June 16th. More information will be sent home by each team as the dates get closer.

June is a very busy month for our graduates. The eighth grade Semi-Formal will be held on Friday, June 5th 6:30-9:00pm. They will be participating in the Class Day Parade on June 8th. Our BBQ is on June 9th with commencement on Tuesday, June 16th. On Wednesday, June 17th we will be traveling to Canobie Lake Park for our last field trip for the eighth graders. School closes on Thursday, June 18th at 12:00. This last day will also be our last awards recognition day for all students at 9:00. It has been a very exciting year and I look forward to September.
